Personality

Rhett is an over-thinker in every aspect. He likes to plan every element of a day or mission before he carries them out for his own state of mind, in fear that something bad will happen if he doesn't. This is likely an element of OCD and extends to nearly everything he does. He has little to no confidence in his own abilities. If things go off plan or if he messes up he ends up blaming himself even if it couldn't be helped. He isn't very impulsive, loud or fast. Rather opting for the 'slow and steady' method to life. It seems he is always striving to impress those around him.

He takes a lot of responsiblity for his and his partners actions and always seeks to use his partner to his best ability, Though can lose nerve even if he only slips up a little. As an early-riser, he has a love for domestic activities such as cleaning and cooking, often finding himself enjoying the peaceful bliss of sunrise. Though needs to be asleep by 10pm at latest, else be extremely tired the next day.

Whilst he is very intelligent, Rhett has very little belief in his academic ability. He works extremely hard to keep his grades up, believing he doesn't have the 'natural talent' or time to lax his studies; especially around exam season. This also leads him to have a slightly jealous attitude to those who fluke excellent marks with seemingly no effort - though he wouldn't say this aloud.

Rhett has few friends, though keeps the ones he has close. He enjoys solitude, but frequently finds himself wanting to be beside Sullen all the time. It's strange, his thoughts all too often wander to Sullen and his many charms and calming presence.

Appearance

Rhett has slightly tanned skinned alongside platinum blonde hair (Which he wears half-up in a ponytail.) He has a few moles along his face and usually wears a worried / thinking expression. He has light brown eyes.

He wears a green/black short sleeved jacket adorned with a silhouette of Lord Deaths mask. Under this is a black turtle neck; he usually wears this with green trousers and a pale scarf around his neck. Finally, he has a wristband on his right wrist.

Background

Rhett spent the first three years of his life in Amersfoort, Netherlands, prior to moving to Death City when his parents sought to launch their meister/weapon-geared fashion career, seeking inspiration in Death City. From as young as he could remember Rhett could always see souls, a trait inherited from his papa. Due to being homeschooled, souls were his only company for years. He often created people around the souls he saw, trying to picture their lives, and amused himself despite being shunned from other children his age due to his isolation and strange habits.

His relationship with souls became tense during a family holiday back to the Netherlands. One night he felt a particularly strong, unusual wavelength before he decided to seek its source. When he did he came across a powerful Kishin, the first he'd ever encountered, and almost became one of its victims before managing to run away. From the shadows he watched a meister claim the Kishins soul, partnered with a weapon, before his papa found him the next morning.

From then he had a strange mixed opinion about meisters and weapons but strives to become a hero like the ones who saved him.

The first of his family to attend the DWMA, Rhett has always been under a lot of pressure to be the best of the best. His family is a notoriously rich and expect great things from their son. From a young age he was trained, told he needed to work extra hard to keep up with everyone else around him and stand out. He silently let the pressure to impress build up, too afraid to speak out about it.

while he has a generally okay relationship with his parents he cannot speak to them about academic issues and is terrified of disappointing them. Thus putting a lot of pressure on himself. His parents live in Death city and are known as rather eccentric business people, though Rhett himself has moved out. He doesn't seem to have inherited much of their eccentric attitude.

Abilities

Soul Perception
Rhett has the ability to perceive and read souls within a certain radius of his person; with intense concentration this skill can also give Rhett an insight into a souls personality and traits, as well as their emotional states. This particularly comes in handy when detecting potential Kishin or Witch souls when on missions. Though this makes him slightly more at risk from madness.

Wavelength Control
As a meister, Rhett has some affinity for controlling and manipulating his wavelength with help of his weapon partner. However he's currently attempting to harness his wavelength in order to attack kishins directly with his wavelength, similar to how his teacher does. This includes attempting to learn Soul Force, Soul Sutures and Double Palm Soul Force. Though he still needs to implement his own spin on these skills to truly learn them.

Scythe-Meister
As his main weapon is a chain scythe, Rhett has proficiency in using his partner to their best ability and only improves with time. Though unaware, this has lead his to be a notable meister in their class. He is always adapting to learn more tricks with his weapon though shows some nervousness when enemies get too close, leading to the occasional stumble.

Violet Tempest
When total soul resonance is activated between Rhett and his weapon, this powerful skill will become active. The blades of his weapon become cloaked in a large glowing- almost soul-like light as they prepare to attack. Once they go in for the blow, a large wave of energy is released- traveling until it hits something. An enemy, or even a building, wouldn't stand a chance.

Hand-To-Hand combat / Athleticism
While not Rhetts strong point due to his own anxieties, he display capable ability on holding his own in training situations. This often fails him when the fight becomes real, however. He has impressive agility when calm, being able to run and jump with his weapon with ease.

Other

Phasmology Knowledge
Rhett is very skilled in his studies and academic knowledge, often topping his class in exams and schoolwork. Though he struggles to understand a few things from a weapon perspective, he is not shy to ask his partner for help.

Uneasy Soul
While Rhetts soul is adaptive and likely easy to sync with, his anxieties all-too frequently throw off resonances with weapons unfamiliar to him. Leading to some seeing him as 'weak-souled' meister. Luckily he managed to find the perfect partner in Sullen! Helping his partners soul calm and be a little more rational in dire situations.
